Fee guarantee 

We offer all new students a fee guarantee: the fee rate published for 2026/27 entrants will be the same each year and won’t increase during your course of study.

Postgraduate tuition fees for international students vary depending on your programme of study (also called a 'postgraduate degree course'). See table below.

Paying your deposit

You’re required to pay a deposit equal to 50% of your net tuition fee before you can apply for your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) – a mandatory document for your Student Visa application. The net tuition fee is calculated after deducting any University scholarships from the gross fee.

Following registration on your programme of study, the remaining balance of your net tuition fee will be payable in three equal instalments:

Students starting in September

• A 50% deposit is due, with three equal instalments to be paid on 1 November, 1 January and 1 March.

Students starting in January

• A 50% deposit is due, with three equal instalments to be paid on 1 March, 1 May and 1 July.

For example, if you’re enrolled on a course with a gross tuition fee of £18,950 and you receive an International Scholarship of £3,000, your net tuition fee becomes £15,950. Consequently, your deposit will be 50% of £15,950—that is, £7,975. The remaining balance will then be divided into three equal payments of £2,658.33 each.

Please note: In certain circumstances, if risk factors are identified in relation to visa applications, a student may be required to pay either the full first-year tuition fee or a higher deposit prior to the issuance of the CAS. Should this occur, you’ll be advised accordingly.

Exceptions

You are required to pay 100% deposit before you can apply for your CAS if you legally reside in:

• Afghanistan.

• Iran.

• Pakistan.

• Bangladesh.

• The Indian states of Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, and Telangana.

Applicants who legally reside in Nigeria need to pay a flat deposit of £4500.

If you pay your full deposit by 1 June, you will qualify for the early bird discount.

Early Bird Discount and upfront payment discounts

These discounts apply to international students on undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes only. They do not apply to postgraduate research. They apply to students starting for the first time in September 2027 or January 2028, not continuing students.

How they work:

• Discounts apply to your net tuition fee only (the fee after any scholarships).

• The 3% Early Bird 50% deposit discount applies to your first year of study only.

• The 5% Early Bird remaining fees discount applies to each year of your course where you pay in full by the deadline. The 5% Early Bird will not be applied to additional study years caused by resits.

• The maximum discount in any year is 5%. If you meet both deadlines, you receive 5%, not 8%.

Payment Deadlines and Discounts

Early Bird Discount - November 2027 and January 2028

International postgraduate students commencing their studies in November 2027 or January 2028 may be eligible for a 5% Early Bird Discount where their tuition fees are paid in full by the relevant deadline below.

Students from Pakistan and Bangladesh

Students from Pakistan and Bangladesh are required to pay their tuition fees in full. A 5% Early Bird Discount will apply where full payment is received by:

• 31 August 2027 for November 2027 entry

• 9 November 2027 for January 2028 entry

Students from all other countries

International students from all other countries can receive a 5% Early Bird Discount where their tuition fees are paid in full by:

• 12 October 2027 for November 2027 entry

• 7 December 2027 for January 2028 entry

The Early Bird Discount is applied to the tuition fee payable for the relevant academic year and is subject to the University's applicable terms and conditions.

Fee guarantee

We offer all new international students a fee guarantee: the net tuition fee you pay in your first year – after any scholarships are applied – will remain the same for every year of your course. Your fee will not increase.

Self-funding and Payment

Students who need a student visa 

If you’re self-funding your postgraduate degree, you’ll need to arrange payment of your tuition fees as part of your online registration. Once you’ve completed online registration for your programme, the remaining 50% of your net tuition fee is payable in three equal instalments on the dates below:Ìý

September start

• A 50% deposit is due, with three equal instalments to then be paid on 1 November, 1 January and 1 March.

January start

• A 50% deposit is due, with three equal instalments to then be paid on 1 March, 1 May, 1 July.

Students who do not need a student visa

You can either pay fees in full or set up an instalment plan. You can set up a monthly payment plan during the online registration process.

Sponsor Funding

If you’re being funded by an external organisation, you must provide evidence as part of the online registration process.

If you are an overseas student requiring a student visa, and your sponsor is on the University’s approved list (see appendix B of the Student Debt Management Policy), your sponsor will be invoiced after registration.

In all other cases, the sponsor must to pay your tuition fees in full before your registration.Ìý
